ACCES Employment in Barrie, Ontario, seeks an Employment Consultant to deliver employment services, counseling, and referrals to a diverse client base. You will run workshops, build community relationships, and maintain client files while advocating for clients’ employment and training needs.

The role requires post-secondary education in related fields or relevant experience, strong English communication, and willingness to work flexible hours.

Qualificações

• Post-secondary education in Career and Work Counseling or related field or 5 years related experience.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and self-management skills for working with clients and partners.
• Knowledge of job search and labour market trends; strong outreach to employers.
• Experience in case and file management and presenting/facilitating sessions.
• Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with online platforms like Salesforce.

Responsabilidades

• Provide culturally sensitive employment services including intake, assessment, counseling, and referrals.
• Facilitate workshops to prepare clients for marketing themselves to employers.
• Develop relationships with community organizations for referrals and opportunities.
• Maintain active caseload with thorough file management.
• Advocate for clients regarding employment, training, and equitable access to services.
• Meet monthly statistical requirements and track activities accurately.
• Conduct needs assessments and career testing in groups or individually.
• Assist clients using ACCES resources and connect them with employers.
• Market ACCES services to employers to place clients in jobs.
• Participate fully as an equal member of the employment consulting team.
