Job summary

Burnaby School District invites applications for a Vision Itinerant Teacher to support students with visual impairments across elementary and secondary settings in Burnaby.

The role requires a diploma or Master's in education of the visually impaired, classroom teaching experience, BC Teaching Certificate, and Braille proficiency. A valid driver's license is preferred; orientation and mobility training is an asset. Salary range CAD 64,318–113,240 per year.

DISTRICT VISION LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER

Ongoing, Full-Time (1.0 FTE) & Part-Time (0.4 FTE)

The Burnaby School District is on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil- Waututh and Squamish.

The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. We currently have a dynamic duo of Vision Learning Support Teachers who work collaboratively with classroom teachers and school teams to support students with visual impairments, and provide them with an engaging, comprehensive and inclusive learning experience. We offer mentoring and collaboration with experienced team members and/or members in the field.

Burnaby School District is seeking a Qualified Vision Itinerant Teacher.
