Qualifications

Position Overview

The District Vice President (DVP) is responsible for driving business growth and expanding CIGAM’s market presence within a defined territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with financial advisors, enhancing their knowledge of CI’s investment solutions, and achieving both gross and net sales targets. Working closely with a Business Development Manager and Sales Associate, the DVP will lead the execution of strategic sales plans, advisor development initiatives, and targeted campaigns to grow market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan to achieve assigned sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with financial advisors and their teams.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including Business Development Managers and Sales Associates, to drive advisor engagement and support.
  • Utilize CIGAM’s CRM platform to manage activities, track progress, and optimize territory coverage.
  • Effectively communicate CIGAM’s investment philosophy and solutions in client-facing scenarios.
  • Represent CIGAM at regional and national industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Continuously improve product knowledge, sales strategies, and business development skills.
  • Monitor advisor sentiment through Environics Advisor Perception surveys and maintain high rankings.
  • Partner with National Accounts and the BDM team to execute firm-wide initiatives and advisor strategies.
  • Strategically manage your calendar and scheduling to prioritize high-impact activities and meet activity goals.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience within the financial services industry.

Education

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CSC, CFP, CIM, CFA, or CAIA preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of the asset management industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a client-first approach.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to develop creative, client-focused solutions.

Working Conditions

  • Travel required for meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability required for marketing or client events.
