Job summary

Chilliwack School District No. 33 is seeking an Assistant Manager of Transportation to provide strategic and operational leadership of the district's Transportation Department.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
• Experience leading operations teams in a transportation setting.
• Knowledge of routing, dispatch, asset management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day Transportation Department operations with the Transportation Manager.
• Respond to inquiries from parents, schools, and the public and follow up with drivers as needed.
• Assist with annual bus route reviews, scheduling, and dispatching casual replacement drivers.
• Support administrative operations including after-hours call-outs, staff leave, and payroll reconciliation.
• Help coordinate student conduct protocols and accessibility/medical transportation needs.
• Assist in managing the transportation shop and fleet maintenance compliance.
