Position Summary
District Service Managers foster a customer-first culture within a full-service district, focusing on growing and retaining business, talent, and financial outcomes. They are responsible for the district's growth and profitability by driving service revenue and sales partnerships for local and national accounts within their region.
Duties
- Customer Focus (50%)
- Owns Customer Satisfaction, retention, and revenue goals for their district.
- Builds strong customer relationships and represents Service in key meetings, sales opportunities, and issue resolution, modeling leadership skills for their team.
- Develops high-performing partnerships with STERIS sales and service teams to maximize the 'Share of Wallet' for local and national accounts.
- Designs and implements customer engagement initiatives tailored to their district.
- Ensures cost-effective service quality through protocols and procedures.
- Coordinates strategies with internal partners to align customer needs with business strategies, preparing for future work.
Owns talent and resource forecasting to meet customer and financial objectives.
Financial and Operational Responsibilities
- Achieves targeted financial performance, including full P&L responsibility and risk management.
- Collaborates with the business unit controller and AVP to develop costs, revenue forecasts, and analyze operational expenses.
- Monitors and manages employee performance, providing coaching and feedback.
- Acts as a liaison for employee engagement and retention, setting performance expectations.
- Forecasts labor and skill requirements, assessing ROI of resources.
- Ensures compliance with risk, safety, and audit standards, representing STERIS professionally at customer sites.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience including 2 years leading teams; or 14 years relevant experience including leadership roles, military experience included.
- Experience in resource planning, employee performance management, and basic P&L/budget reporting.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to navigate multiple systems and generate reports.
Preferred Experience
- Experience leading virtual field teams or similar leadership in relevant industries.
- 4+ years in field service leadership roles.
- Training or proven results in Continuous Improvement.
- Strong business acumen, especially in budget and performance management.
