Job summary

Gordon Food Service - Canada is seeking a sales-focused professional in Ottawa to act as the primary liaison between food service customers and the company, managing orders, coordinating deliveries, and growing the customer base.

You will expand existing relationships and secure new business by promoting GFS products and value-added solutions, while leveraging CRM for account management and KPI achievement across the full sales cycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in sales or related roles, preferably with food service exposure.
• Strong customer focus with effective verbal communication.
• Strategic, innovative, and inquisitive with integrity.
• Goal-oriented, organized and open to coaching.

Responsibilities

• Order & Delivery Management: handle orders from placement to delivery and resolve issues.

• Account Management: use CRM to manage data, receivables, and reviews.

Position Summary

Act as the primary liaison between food service customers and Gordon Food Service, handling order management, delivery coordination, and relationship development in an assigned territory. Focus on expanding existing customer relationships and securing new business by promoting Gordon Food Service products and value-added solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Order & Delivery Management: Manage orders from placement to delivery, addressing any issues along the way.
• Customer Acquisition & Growth: Pursue new customer opportunities, strengthen current relationships, and identify growth prospects.
• Consultative Sales: Serve as a food service advisor, providing system design guidance and GFS value-added solutions.
• Customer Education: Educate customers on product options, pricing, and availability, including providing samples.
• Account Management: Leverage CRM tools to manage customer data, oversee receivables, and conduct business reviews.
• Route & Performance Management: Achieve KPIs for route growth, apply negotiation strategies, and manage all aspects of the sales cycle.
• Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, culinary networks, and customer-focused areas such as sales, profitability, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in sales or business roles, ideally with exposure to food service or preparation; or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Strong customer focus with effective verbal communication skills.
• Strategic, innovative, and inquisitive, with high integrity.
• Goal-oriented, organized, adaptable, and open to coaching.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets, manage time and territory effectively, and adapt to program changes.
