PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent District Sales Manager.

Position Summary

This role covers a zone located throughout the Woodstock, Oxford, Brant, Norfolk and Haldimand county area.

The PRIDE Seeds District Sales Manager works directly with the sales, marketing and product development teams around the promotion and positioning of PRIDE corn hybrids and soybean varieties with dealers and customers in a designated district. Responsible for business planning, development, recruiting and training an expanding dealer network. This person will also be responsible for agronomic support services in the district.

Position reports to PRIDE Seeds Vice President Commercial.

Essential Functions
  • Optimize sales and profitability.
  • Promote and sell PRIDE Seeds’ products.
  • Manage sales.
  • Manage programs.
  • Utilize digital tools and resources to drive sales.
  • Provide dealers with coaching and sales tools to promote and sell PRIDE Seeds.
  • Develop and execute district business plans.
  • Recruit dealers in areas of need in the district.
  • Fully support dealers to establish grower specific strategies and provide solutions.
  • Participate in direct one-on-one teamwork with dealers, such as drive-alongs, to promote sales.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility by operating within assigned budget.
  • Work closely with Sales Agronomist to implement a hybrid and variety testing plan with growers within the district as outlined by product development.
  • Submit all reports (allocations, forecasting, expense reports, mileage, etc.) and complete all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Fully attend and thoroughly participate in all PRIDE Sales Meetings.
  • Promote the brand image and marketing programs through the Dealer sales force.
  • Train, motivate and develop Dealers to sell on their own through training sessions and on-the-job training.
  • Assist Dealers in preparing and implementing their sales plans.
  • Assist where possible to plant and harvest test plots for yield comparisons.
  • Operate and manage a regional warehouse in the district to fill in-season orders.
  • Install signs at plots and fields to promote brand awareness.
  • Provide a communication link for the brand between Selling Dealers, Select Accounts, and the National Sales Manager.
  • Provide retail partners with price structures, deadlines, incentive program details and return program specifics.
  • Annually evaluate all Dealers with the National Sales Manager to assist in expanding and upgrading account base.
  • Collect accounts receivable and follow up on delinquent accounts.
  • Work in alignment with district Sales Agronomist to develop relationships with growers and sales representatives.
  • Advise the National Sales Manager of all major market developments in the district that affect sales and/or personnel.
  • Forecast sales numbers for product and participate in the product advancement meeting.
  • Project a positive image of PRIDE Seeds and AgReliant Genetics and act in accordance with the company’s core values.

Duties may be amended by the Company as may be reasonably required.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience and account management experience working in agriculture.
  • Experience working in the seed industry.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) / Ordre des Agronomes du Quebec preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work required hours and travel as necessary, some overnight travel required.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work outside in varying climates and conditions.
  • Large amount and distance of travel by vehicle.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
