Description
Scope of Role:
  • Provide in-field sales training, coaching and development to all direct reports. A full 60% of the DSM’s time allocation will be spent in the field working with sales personnel and developing strong partnerships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Drive aggressive growth in the retail and licensee sales channels through the execution of sales plans and directives with associated objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Co-develop and allocate distribution, visibility, and volume objectives to the field sales team that are consistent with sales and marketing strategies.
  • Interpret and implement industry data to enhance sales calls to foster meaningful results and demonstrate a high standard of knowledge and proficiency in the marketplace.
  • Responsible for effectively managing sales operations and customer marketing budgets while ensuring that responsible spend and proper ROI maximization is achieved.
  • Ensure proper execution of all sales directives in the On Premise (distribution, visibility and account retention / management) and Retail (distribution, off-shelf availability, programming, inventory management) channels.
  • Manage timely, thorough and complete sales team adherence to the Cowbell CRM.
  • Prompt reporting of competitive information to the Sales Director regarding pricing, promotional, and other merchandising activities within all channels.

  • Clear demonstration of deep-down confidence that provides dynamic leadership capability.
  • Ability to grasp strategies and create tactics that translate into a definitively successful execution as planned.
  • Possesses a balanced approach to managing personnel and customers by utilizing analytics and gut instinct.
  • Has a demonstrated comfort and curiosity in seeking fact-based solutions by using sales information systems (Last Call Analytics, DTD, Excel). Must project credibility in enforcing analytics with direct reports to drive fact-based selling approaches.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to adapt and overcome issues in the face of adversity.
  • Excellent time management skills. Able to continually identify, evaluate and re-organize a vast array of priorities while maintaining focus on core business deliverables.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent results in Beverage Alcohol Sales.
  • Keen understanding of LCBO policies and practices and the areas of opportunity for strong brand growth.
  • Defined understanding of Ontario On-Premise operations and possesses skills and tactics to teach Territory Managers to successfully navigate the channel and consistently deliver strong distribution, brand building via consumer programming and impactful visibility projects that deliver strong and sustainable volume and revenue growth.
  • Broad understanding of fiscal management and responsibility. Ability to deliver required results with allocated resources.
  • Overnight travel required as necessary.
Working Conditions
  • Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
  • Able to work on a computer for long periods of time;
  • Regular travel;
  • The ability to handle heavy loads such as beer kegs and cases;
  • Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
