DISTRICT RESOURCE TEACHER - INCLUSIVE LEARNING

Richmond School District operates 37 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education and a number of additional facilities. The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff.
We currently have 3 full-time District Resource Teacher - Inclusive Learning positions available for September 1, 2024.
As a member of the Inclusion Support Team (IST), the District Resource Teacher will provide collaboration, consultation, and direct support to school teams (Teachers, Education Assistants, Administrators) to support students with disabilities and diverse abilities who have significant learning and/or behaviour challenges.
The Inclusion Support Team (IST) is part of the Learning Services Department and is responsible for designing and implementing professional learning opportunities related to inclusive learning for teachers and education assistants at the district and school level. This position also requires ongoing communication and the development of relationships within the school district, as well as with outside organizations, to implement projects and therefore requires flexibility in working hours with meetings occurring out of school time. All positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District’s Strategic Plan, specifically, Strategic Priority 1: Inspired Learners and Strategic Priority 2: Equity and Inclusion.
Other duties and responsibilities may also be assigned as necessary in response to the changing needs of the district.
