Job description

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Distribution Driver for a Casual position at Dawson Creek & District Hospital.

Reporting to the Director of Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution, the driver will operate, load, and unload various single axle fleet vehicles, transporting supplies and materials using methods such as hand loading, pallet jacks, or tow motors. Responsibilities include delivering supplies, lab samples, and vaccines according to schedules and dispatched instructions. The role may also involve operating passenger vehicles with up to 10 seats, including the driver, for transporting passengers.

About Dawson Creek & District Hospital

This full-service community hospital provides acute care, emergency services, day surgery, respiratory therapy, primary care, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory services. It has 31 acute care beds and 15 regional psychiatric beds, serving Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. The hospital is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical Centre for Northeast BC. Visiting specialists include urology, dermatology, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology.

Dawson Creek is known as the Mile Zero City, marking the start of the Alaska Highway. Surrounded by the Northern Rockies, the city has a population of approximately 12,500 and provides primary services to around 20,000 residents, with the larger Peace River Region population of 60,000. The community offers educational facilities including elementary, middle, and secondary schools, as well as Northern Lights College.
