Job description

What you will be doing :

The successful candidate will act in the role of Distribution Asset Sustainment Structural Program Engineer. Duties will include, but are not limited to :

  • Reviewing Structural Inspection results on Maintenance Holes, Vaults, and other distribution system structural components
  • Reviewing 3rd Party Structural Assessments
  • Prioritizing and addressing high-priority defects
  • Collaborating with Program and Contract Management, Distribution Engineering, and Distribution Design on remediation solutions
  • Supporting annual planning for structural inspections, repairs, and replacements
  • Providing advice on Structural Inspection and Maintenance Standards
  • Issuing signed and sealed memos on structural asset issues requiring action or caution
  • Reviewing and signing off on deferrals of inspections and repairs with low to moderate risk
  • Escalating high-risk issues due to delays or access problems
  • Coordinating with other Program Engineers on structural and electrical work

What you must have :

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or eligible for registration
  • Ability to subscribe to digital seal technology services if required
  • Intermediate English skills (written and spoken)

Salary / Rate Range : $77.00 - $95.00 per hour

Term : 4-month contract, most likely to extend
