Position Overview

As a senior technology leader reporting to the Sr. Distinguished Architect for Developer Experience, you will identify, assess, prioritize, and drive projects to achieve this outcome. You will play a key role in realizing Autodesk's platform vision and transforming multiple industries. This is a high-impact role shaping our systems and practices as we transition to a platform company.

This team will work in a hybrid model from our Vancouver, BC, office(s).

Responsibilities

1. Work with peers throughout Autodesk to understand architectural landscape and challenges, articulate opportunities, and motivate change with trust-building.
2. Drive technical standards and approaches.
3. Collaborate with leadership to articulate current architecture and inform future investments with data-driven arguments.
4. Assess current development and operational practices focusing on privacy, security, and resilience.
5. Propose, prioritize, and promote adoption of Autodesk architecture and practice standards.
6. Coordinate across multiple teams through effective communication and networking.
7. Provide input on solving architectural challenges and designing direction for platform and divisions.
8. Lead resolution of complex problems within your discipline, integrating cross-functional outcomes.
9. Contribute to cross-organization groups addressing architectural challenges.
10. Maintain expert knowledge of architectural patterns, technologies, and trends.
11. Bring innovative architectural thinking to our practice.
12. Support configuration management and create strategies for deployment pipelines.
13. Track industry best practices and advocate where relevant.
14. Influence leaders to adopt solutions, set priorities, and allocate resources.
15. Anticipate business challenges and develop proactive solutions.
16. Advise on Autodesk and AWS technologies, including databases, compute frameworks, CI/CD, and regionalization.
17. Engage in internal knowledge sharing through conferences, mentoring, and seminars. Travel at least four times annually for internal meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering/architecture.
• 5+ years in a senior architecture role within a SaaS platform strategy.
• 5+ years in full stack software engineering.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Golang, and other languages.
• Experience designing cloud architectures on AWS (or Azure/others), with managed services like RDS, Aurora, ECS, Lambda.
• Experience improving CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Harness, and creating developer standards.
• Self-directed with strategic and efficient work habits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Innovation track record via patents, publications, or conferences.
• Experience transitioning a company from product-centric to platform-centric, focusing on scalability and agility.
• Expertise in large-scale, resilient cloud solutions.
• Ability to lead impactful initiatives and teams.
• Experience creating innovative solutions pushing technological boundaries.
• Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and influencing stakeholders.

Salary transparency

Starting base salary in Canada-BC ranges from $171,000 to $250,800, based on experience and location. Compensation includes bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.
