Job summary

South Central Interior Distance Education School in Merritt is seeking a part-time Grade 7-8 teacher for a 0.65 FTE temporary role. Immediate start through June 30, 2027. Must hold a BC Teaching Certificate and be familiar with the BC Curriculum. Travel within the region is required.

The successful candidate will adapt materials, use Brightspace, and collaborate with school staff to meet diverse learner needs and expectations.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with BC Curriculum.
• Willingness to travel throughout the region as needed.
• Experience adapting materials, resources, assessments and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Grade 7-8 curriculum in accordance with the British Columbia Curriculum.
• Use Brightspace to support learning and tracking of progress.
• Collaborate with staff and families to support diverse learner needs.
