Job description

Position Summary

Are you a Dispensary Pharmacist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Pharmacy department.

In accordance with the established vision and values of Northern Health, the Dispensary Pharmacist provides distribution pharmacy services by performing duties such as interpreting medication orders/prescriptions, assessing prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and/or compounded and labelled and that dispensing records are complete. Communicates with physicians, patients, and/or other health care team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. Participates in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects, implementation of dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, quality control activities, contributes to internal publications, and participates in clinical drug trials in accordance with established standards and procedures. Additionally, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems and achieve patient care outcomes.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00. Position will be a part of a future weekend rotation and will be expected to be part of the on-call rotation.

Ksyen Regional Hospital

The new Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, the facility features 82 beds, private rooms, and is a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.

Terrace

The main industries in Terrace are communications, transportation, and natural resources. The population is approximately 12,700.   • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
  • Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Cerner and Windows-based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability in the use of e-mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
