Northern Health is seeking a Dispensary Pharmacist to join its Pharmacy department in a hospital setting. You will interpret orders, assess prescriptions for safety and efficacy, and ensure accurate dispensing and labeling while communicating with physicians and patients for clarification.
You will collaborate with the healthcare team, participate in medication safety initiatives, and contribute to quality improvement and research activities as needed.

In accordance with the established vision and values of Northern Health, the Dispensary Pharmacist provides distribution pharmacy services by performing duties such as interpreting medication orders/prescriptions, assessing prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and/or compounded and labelled and that dispensing records are complete. Communicates with physicians, patients, and/or other health care team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. Participates in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects, implementation of dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, quality control activities, contributes to internal publications and participates in clinical drug trials in accordance with established standards and procedures. Additionally, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems and achieve patient care outcomes.
Saturday and Sunday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00. Rotation will include some stat coverage (approx 4 stats/year).
