In accordance with the established vision and values of Northern Health, the Dispensary Pharmacist provides distribution pharmacy services by performing duties such as interpreting medication orders/prescriptions, assessing prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, and ensuring that medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed and/or compounded and labelled and that dispensing records are complete. Communicates with physicians, patients, and/or other health care team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. Participates in the collection of data for medication use evaluation projects, implementation of dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, quality control activities, contributes to internal publications, and participates in clinical drug trials in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Additionally, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems and achieve patient care outcomes.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 07:00 to 15:00, 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 10:00 to 18:00
Rotation will include some weekend and stat coverage (approximately one weekend day per month and 4 stat days per year).
