Job summary

Challenger Motor Freight in Windsor is seeking a Driver Coordinator (Days) to connect AZ Drivers with our operations, ensuring smooth pickup to delivery and timely updates to Customer Service, Breakdown, and Customs.

Based on an on-site, permanent, non-union role, you will support driver retention, distribute workloads fairly, track performance, and communicate with customers while maintaining accurate dispatch information.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma is required.
• Knowledge of truckload dispatch is an asset.
• ACE and Customs/border crossing experience is an asset.
• TMW experience is an asset.

Role Summary:

The Driver Coordinator (Days) is the main point of contact between the backbone of the transportation industry (our AZ Drivers) and the organization. This role is responsible for effectively coordinating a group of drivers to success through continual communication from the shipment pick-up to delivery and ensuring the appropriate internal departments (i.e. Customer Service, Breakdown, Customs) are aware of any updates.

Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will:

• Participating in and supporting driver retention initiatives
• Maintaining fair and equitable distribution of work
• Communicating dispatch information as required
• Monitoring driver performance/miles and reefer requirements
• Monitoring and responding to driver satellite messages
• Assisting with the development of the required driver skills i.e.: Customs, Hazmat, Hours of Service, Policy, Regulations, Satellites, etc.
• Assisting with solutions regarding any driver concerns
• Assisting with driver inquiries - payroll, miles etc.
• Updating customer websites relative to the position/shift
• Communicating and problem solving with customers as required

Other Duties:

• Performs other duties as required
