This role requires excellent leadership, problem solving, and demonstration of professionalism in a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with Company programs and procedures, Provincial and Federal regulations, and client policies.

The Dispatcher ensures clients have an amazing experience as they tour Western Canada on premium motor coaches. You will be an integral member of the TRAXX team, working with the Trip Supporters (Dispatch Coordinators) and Duty Manager to ensure all Motor Coach Operator and road (trip) activities are supported and monitored according to customer itineraries and transportation (regulatory) requirements. The Dispatcher frequently collaborates with other Managers of the organization. Your priority will be to ensure TRAXX safely delivers on and exceeds our customers’ expectations of their TRAXX Coachlines experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to manage the day-to-day schedule of the operators and the fleet, allocating appropriate type of coaches for each trip.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle locations, driver assignments, and transportation schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, assess and support all operator inquiries and provide relevant trip information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address issues related to transportation operations, including maintenance and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including safety guidelines and transportation laws.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to transportation activities, including inspections, logs, and incident reports.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

You are known for your ability to remain calm and professional while effectively handling multiple calls and tasks, addressing problems, and dispatching appropriate team members. Key to your success are your communication, time management, decision making, and people skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of Dispatching experience within the transportation industry. Preferably working with Motorcoaches.
  • Effective decision making, problem solving, planning and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (organizational, team oriented & focused).
  • Good working knowledge of western Canada.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); knowledge of transportation software is an asset.
  • Experience in the truck or highway bus transportation industry an asset.

JOB TYPE : Full-time.

WAGE : $24-$26 per hour

LOCATION : Burnaby, BC

SCHEDULE : 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Day shifts run from 5 : 00 am to 1 : 30 pm PST, while night shifts are from 3 : 00 pm to 11 : 30 pm PST.
