Dispatcher (Part-Time)

Peace Country Transit - 10404 87 Ave, Fort St. John, BC

16-32 hours/week | Friday, Saturday, Weekends

Are you the type of person who thrives on keeping things organized, moving, and on time? Peace Country Transit, part of the Keolis Canada family, is looking for a Dispatcher who’s sharp, dependable, and enjoys being at the heart of a busy operation. This role is a mix of dispatching transit routes and handling front desk administrative tasks. You’ll be the go-to person coordinating drivers, communicating schedules, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly—all while helping customers, answering phones, and keeping things organized on the front line.

What You’ll Do

  • Assign and monitor vehicles and drivers to ensure safe, efficient service
  • Ensure schedules align with service requirements
  • Respond to service requests or incidents in real-time
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams on daily assignments
  • Use dispatch radios to track and manage vehicle movements
  • Comfortable answering calls and providing helpful, friendly support
  • Greet and assist clients in person, by phone, or online
  • Help passengers with bookings and trip questions
  • Support drivers and internal staff with day-to-day inquiries
  • Keep the front office organized, clean, and fully stocked
  • Perform general administrative duties (filing, greeting the public, data entry)

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Quick learner with great attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using a computer

  • Employment is contingent upon receiving a favorable background check.

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of Fort St. John or local routes is a plus
  • Previous dispatch or forward-facing customer service experience
  • Formal education in Office Administration is an advantage

8 HR Shifts | Friday & Saturday Shifts | Part-time position with consistent weekly hours

Wage: $25.62 per/hour
