Job description

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of goods and vehicles to ensure timely and efficient operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or transportation is a plus.
  • Previous experience in dispatching or a related field an asset.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and dispatch software.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Work Schedule
  • Variable shift schedule (e.g., evenings, weekends, or flexible shifts).
  • Part time up to 40 hours per week
  • 2pm to 7pm Mon-Friday and Saturdays 8am to 4pm
Responsibilities
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
  • Monitor routes and adjust schedules to accommodate delays or changes.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including times, routes, and service details.
  • Use dispatch software and systems to track and update job statuses.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, delays, or unexpected situations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
