Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Dispatcher located in Penticton, BC. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules and routes of the drivers, maintaining communication with drivers, clients, and brokers to ensure timely deliveries, monitoring driver performance, coordinating with maintenance department and handling service-related issues as they arise.

Qualifications

-Previous experience in trucking industry preferred.

-Comprehensive understanding of trucking industry throughout Canada and US: familiarity with US and Canadian Hours of Service rules, National Safety Code, Canada Labor Code, Safety and Compliance factors and Weight and Dimension regulations across Canada and the US.

-Composure under pressure and ability to make quick, logical decisions.

-Strong organizational skills: time management, project planning and multi-tasking capability.

-A team player with ability to effectively communicate with personnel, co-workers and customers in a professional manner.

-Excellent computer skills.

-Ability to perform sales, both telephone and direct contact.

-Flexibility to work hours as required and dictated by the job and availability to be on call for after-hours telephone calls.

-Ability to travel on a limited basis for meetings with customers and working with other offices.

-Satisfactory results from a criminal record search.

-Preparedness to work on a six-month probation period.

-Good physical and mental health and have satisfactory results from a doctor’s and/nurses medical.

-Compliance with Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy.
