Job description

TST-CF Express has been an industry leader for over 97 years, specializing in Less Than Truckload (LTL) Freight. With locations across Canada and strategic partnerships, we provide transportation services across North America.

We are currently hiring a Dispatch Supervisor responsible for planning, dispatching, and managing local pickups and deliveries. Industry experience, preferably within a unionized environment, is preferred.

Job Duties
  • Manage operations at the Dispatch Center, including communication processes, procedures, and personnel.
  • Maintain and execute the daily dispatch plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of outbound loads.
  • Receive and process transportation requests from customers.
  • Provide accurate directions for pickup and delivery services.
  • Schedule and dispatch workers based on requests or needs, using radios or telephones.
  • Create and adjust dispatch schedules according to demand and performance.
  • Monitor workloads and pursue additional resources when necessary.
  • Track personnel and equipment locations to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Resolve issues with drivers regarding packages, on-call status, and assignments.
  • Verify and process driver delivery paperwork.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on delivery equipment for drivers.
  • Ensure open and effective communication with delivery personnel.
  • Create and maintain logs for quality checks and assessments.
  • Respond thoroughly and accurately to complaints.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous dispatch or call center experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry (shipping, receiving, scheduling, freight) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to handle people tactfully and professionally at all times.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and team attitude.
