Job summary

Carmens Group in Hamilton is seeking a part-time, permanent Dishwasher to support our high-volume kitchen operations at the Hamilton Convention Centre. You will play a behind-the-scenes role, ensuring dishes and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly to keep our culinary team running smoothly.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Compensation is $19-$20 per hour with opportunities to grow within a leading Canadian

Qualifications

• Positive, outgoing and friendly team player.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Adaptable to changes in workflow or requirements.
• Previous cleaning/dishwashing experience an asset.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
• Flexible availability required.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, kitchen tools, and food preparation equipment using an industrial dishwasher or by hand when required.
• Ensuring all items are properly cleaned, dried, and returned to their designated storage locations.
• Maintaining clean and orderly kitchen work areas—including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces, walls, and equipment.
• Reporting any low stock, damaged items, or equipment issues promptly to the Executive Chef.
• Following all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and chemical use.
• Supporting kitchen operations by keeping dish stations, floors, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Assisting with trash and recycling removal in accordance with cleanliness standards.
• Communicating effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and safe operations.
• Taking direction from the Executive Chef and contributing to a respectful, team-first kitchen culture.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.
