Job summary

Aspira Red Oak Retirement Living in Kanata, Ontario is seeking a casual (on-call) Dishwasher to cover vacations and open shifts. The role offers two daily blocks: 9:00am–3:30pm and 4:00pm–9:00pm, with weekend availability expected.

You will maintain cleanliness of dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas, follow sanitation procedures, and support a resident-focused food service. Minimum Grade 10, Smart Serve, and at least one year in dining room service are required; applicants must pass

Qualifications

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• All applicants must pass Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.

Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures.
• Ensure correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas; follow 3-sink method for pot washing.
• Clean kitchen and surrounding areas; mop floors.
• Assist with site cleaning schedules as required.
• Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries as needed.
• Alert team leader to problems and make corrective recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
