Job summary

Athens Creek Retirement Lodge, operated by PARC Retirement Living, seeks a Dishwasher to contribute to a caring, community-focused dining environment in Penticton, BC. This casual, on-call split-shift role offers an hourly rate of $21.53 and opportunities to learn and grow with a supportive team.

You will help deliver meals, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and support kitchen operations while respecting WHMIS and health guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent.
• Experience with commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Knowledge of food service practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team; safe handling of chemicals and hot environments.
• FoodSafe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications.
• Criminal Record Check and TB test required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent dining experience for residents and guests.
• Clean and sanitize all cookware, dishware and cutlery safely and efficiently.
• Help clean the kitchen, equipment, countertops and beverage area.
• Maintain safe dishwasher temperatures and proper chemical storage.
• Assist with stock control, food prep and serving meals as needed.

As a Dishwasher, you’re responsible for:

• Helping to deliver an incredible dining experience for our residents and guests.
• Cleaning and sanitizing all cookware, dishware, and cutlery safely and efficiently – while minimizing breakage.
• Helping clean the kitchen, including equipment, countertops, and the beverage centre.
• Maintaining safe dishwasher temperatures and ensuring cleaning chemicals are stored and used according to WHMIS and other public health regulations.
• Working in an ergonomically safe manner, practicing proper lifting, bending, and reaching techniques to avoid injury.
• Assisting with stock control, food prep, and serving meals as needed.

• You have a minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent, plus experience with commercial dishwashing equipment, and knowledge of food service practices.

• You can perform physical work, including prolonged standing and walking, lifting up to 10 kilograms safely – plus, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching ad carrying.

• You have your FoodSafe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications.
• You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and and other professional services engaged with our residents.
