Job summary

Starling Community Services is seeking a casual Dishwasher to join the Food Services team in Waterloo Region and Wellington County. The position starts November 9, 2026, with varying hours per week and the chance to contribute to a supportive workplace that values community well-being and equity.

You will be responsible for cleaning dishes and maintaining sanitary kitchen operations while upholding confidentiality and teamwork within a multi-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate is an asset.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines and problem solve as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to give and take direction and work with minimum of supervision.
• Must demonstrate empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families and the professionals engaged in their care.

Responsibilities

• Clean all dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, and pans according to public health regulations and store properly.
• Maintain confidentiality of information related to residents and their families.
• Support equity and belonging within the Agency.

• Pay or shift range: $21.97 CAD to $22.73 CAD
  Rate of Pay: At Starling Community Services all salaries are categorized under a series of \"bands\" determined during our job evaluation process. When determining rate of pay for external hires, a candidate’s past related experience will be taken into consideration along with where others with similar experience currently fall within the band.Note: most new team members will start between the starting salary and the mid-point of the range.

One casual Dishwasher position available, starting on November 09, 2026, working various hours per week.

Your Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• As part of the Food Services’ team, ensures that all dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, and pans are cleaned according to public health regulations and put away in a thorough and organized manner.
• Maintains the confidentiality of information related to the residents and their families.
• Works in alignment with the Agency’s commitment to equity to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.
• The above tasks are representative but not all-inclusive.
