Job summary

Best Western Plus Nor’Wester Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, ON is seeking a self-motivated Dishwasher with strong interpersonal skills for permanent or part-time roles. Shifts include Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift and Morning.

Training will be provided and candidates must have a Food Handling certificate. Responsibilities include washing, sanitizing, stocking, food prep support and maintaining a clean kitchen area.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required for communication with staff and customers.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Safe Food Handling certification preferred or required.
• Training will be provided to successful candidate.

Responsibilities

• Carry and replace linen.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
• Load buspans and trays.
• Operate the dishwasher to clean dishes, glasses, and flatware.
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars.
• Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
• Clean, peel, slice, and trim foods as needed.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Receive, unpack, and store supplies.
• Dispose of garbage and trash regularly.

Best Western Plus Nor’Wester Hotel & Conference Centre based in Thunder Bay, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Dishwasher who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. The candidate who got selected will be required to start work as soon as possible. The vacancies refer to Permanent employment or Part time job. The shift timings include Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift and Morning.

• The candidate will be responsible for carrying and replacing linen.
• The candidate must clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
• The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
• The candidate must load buspans and trays.
• The candidate must be able to use dishwashers to clean dishes, glasses, and flatware.
• The candidate must place dishes in the storage area.
• The candidate must replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
• The candidate must sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
• The candidate must clean pots and pans.
• The candidate must portion and wrap foods.
• The candidate must prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
• The candidate will be responsible for stocking refrigerators and salad bars.
• The candidate must clean, peel, slice, and trim foods using both manual and electrical appliances.
• The candidate must clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cabinets, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
• The candidate must be capable of handling and storing cleaning products.
• The candidate will be responsible for receiving, unpacking and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas.
• The candidate will be responsible for removing kitchen garbage and trash regularly.
• The candidate will be responsible for sweeping, mopping, washing and polishing floors.
• The candidate will be responsible for washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must have a certificate in Safe Food Handling.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate should be dependable.
