The Heart of Riverdale Community Centre is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to join our community kitchen team in Whitehorse, YT. This full-time, permanent position supports daily meal preparation for our youth and families in a busy, welcoming space.

Responsibilities include washing and organizing kitchenware, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with daily closing tasks while adhering to food-safety and workplace-safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but not required.
• Willing to be trained for the role.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg/50 lb.

• Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keeping the dishwashing and kitchen areas clean and organized.
• Putting clean dishes and equipment away.
• Cleaning counters, sinks and other kitchen surfaces.
• Sweeping, mopping and taking out garbage and recycling.
• Assisting with kitchen cleaning and daily closing duties.

The Heart of Riverdale Community Centre is looking for a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our community kitchen team.
The Heart is a busy and welcoming arts and community centre serving children, youth and families in Whitehorse. Our kitchen prepares approximately 100 nutritious meals for young people each day. The Dishwasher plays an important role in keeping the kitchen clean, organized and running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:

• Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Keeping the dishwashing and kitchen areas clean and organized
• Putting clean dishes and equipment away
• Cleaning counters, sinks and other kitchen surfaces
• Sweeping, mopping and taking out garbage and recycling
• Assisting with kitchen cleaning and daily closing duties
• Following food-safety, sanitation and workplace-safety procedures
• Providing basic support to the kitchen team as needed

Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The position is 7.5 paid hours per day and 37.5 hours per week. The successful applicant can begin as soon as possible.
