Qualifications

- Our client a Canadian head quartered organization is seeking a skilled and tenured Disability Specialist for this on-site opportunity located in the North of Calgary. Those with a Disability/HR related educational background and 5+ years disability experience will be given preference.
Reporting to the Director, duties will include but not be limited to;
- All aspects of Claims Management/WCB including timely and accurate reporting to WCB
- Liaison between employees, WCB, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders
- Review of all supporting information to assess eligibility and claim status
- STD/LTD Claim Support (Non-Work-Related Claims) assisting employees with STD/LTD claims by providing guidance on documentation requirements and claim submissions
- Liaise with insurance providers, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely claim approvals
- RTW Coordination, including the development and implementation of effective RTW plans in collaboration with employees, managers, payroll, union and WCB case workers
- Identify modified or alternative work duties for injured employees and monitor the progress of employees returning to work and adjust RTW plans as needed
- Ensure disability claims and RTW processes align with WCB/WSIB/WSBC legislation, company policies, and health & safety regulations
- Prepare reports; claim trends, lost time, and RTW success rates for leadership
- Collaborating with the Health & Safety teams to identify trends and reduce workplace injuries and recommendations to workplace improvements
