Disability Claims Analyst, Group Insurance

What is the opportunity?

The role is available in the following provinces: Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island.

As a Disability Claims Analyst, you will adjudicate and manage disability claims in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary, and digital environment. You will ensure claims are recertified and paid according to policy and procedures, while delivering superior client service. You will also apply risk management strategies impacting financial results, reputation, regulatory compliance, client relationships, and business retention.

What will you do?
  1. Adjudicate claims using a multidisciplinary model to ensure objective, fair, and thorough assessments, complying with policies and regulations.
  2. Provide high-level customer service and manage reputational risk.
  3. Manage a large caseload, calculate benefits, and implement claims management and return-to-work strategies.
  4. Communicate approval or denial decisions professionally to clients.
  5. Handle sensitive information carefully to maintain confidentiality.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and partners to ensure collaboration from initiation to closure.
What will you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Post-secondary education in healthcare or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including communicating complex information with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ability to work independently, managing time and organization effectively.
  • Ability to meet technological and confidentiality requirements (e.g., private space, internet connectivity).
Nice-to-have
  • Ability to manage change effectively.
  • Experience in disability claims, especially in group disability claims.
