Job description

The role is available in the following provinces: Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island.

As a Disability Claims Analyst, you will adjudicate and manage disability claims in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary, and digital environment. Your responsibilities include ensuring claims are recertified and paid according to policy and procedures, while delivering superior client service. You will also apply risk management strategies impacting the company's financial results, reputation, regulatory compliance, client relationships, and business retention.

What will you do?

  1. Adjudicate claims using a multidisciplinary model to ensure objective, fair, and thorough assessments, complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  2. Provide high-level customer service and manage reputational risk.
  3. Handle a large caseload, calculate benefit payments, and implement claims management and return-to-work strategies as needed.
  4. Communicate approval or denial decisions professionally to clients.
  5. Handle sensitive information carefully to maintain confidentiality.
  6. Engage effectively with team members, stakeholders, and partners throughout the claims process.

What will you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in healthcare or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with empathy and professionalism, especially when dealing with emotional or mental health clients.
  • Ability to work independently, managing time and problems effectively.
  • Capability to meet technological and confidentiality requirements (private space, internet, etc.).

Nice-to-have:

  • Ability to manage change effectively.
  • Experience in disability claims, especially in group disability.
