TD Asset Management (TDAM) is seeking a Director to lead the distribution strategy in Western Canada. Reporting to the Advisory National Sales Manager, Advisor Distribution, you will oversee a team of wholesalers and drive growth across the region.

Based in Calgary, this senior role requires 10+ years of industry sales experience and deep knowledge of asset and wealth management. A strong network and exceptional communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • University degree is required.
  • CFA, CIM, CFP or FCSI accreditations are preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry sales experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of asset management and wealth management industry.
  • Strong interest in capital markets, portfolio construction and business development.
  • Excels in a sales environment.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and manage the Western Canada sales region and performance.
  • Lead, develop and hold accountable a team of wholesalers (RV P, BDMs, BDA) to expand TDAM's footprint.
  • Attract, develop and retain talent.
  • Share industry best practices in sales, marketing, portfolio construction and business development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to maximize distribution and client experience.
  • Stay current on markets, regulations and industry changes.
  • Develop strong COIs to support the region.

This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance.

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. Reporting and Role

Reporting into the Advisory National Sales Manager, Advisor Distribution, the director is responsible for leadership and implementation of TD Asset Management's distribution strategy in Western Canada.

Key Accountabilities
  • The director is accountable for the growth and performance of their region
  • This role would require leading, developing and holding accountable a team of wholesalers (Regional Vice President, Business Development Managers, and Business Development Associates) to help grow TDAM's footprint
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent
  • Develop and share ongoing industry wide best practices around sales, marketing, portfolio construction and business development
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners and external partners in order to maximize distribution effectiveness and provide a seamless client experience
  • Stay current on markets, regulations and industry changes
  • Develops strong COI's within the industry to support your region
  • Provide input on the development of annual sales targets, performance criteria, reward and recognition programs, compensation programs and key performance indicators
  • Uphold corporate and industry sales practices
Skills & Experience Required

  • Preference given to industry accreditations (CFA, CIM, CFP, FCSI)
  • 10+ years of industry sales experience
  • In-depth knowledge of both asset management and wealth management industry
