Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) is seeking a Director of Wellbriety, Transitional Housing and Protective Care Services in Thompson, MB. The role provides strategic leadership for a continuum of housing, wellness and protective care services, ensuring Indigenous-led healing, safety, and housing stability.

The Director oversees operations, budgets, HR, and community engagement, championing Housing First, harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches in collaboration with Elders and Knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Indigenous Studies, Nursing, Health Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree is considered an asset.
  • Minimum seven years of progressive leadership experience in housing, homelessness, addictions, health care, or social services.
  • Minimum five years of senior management experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing twenty-four-hour operations and complex budgets.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and operational oversight for MKO's Wellbriety Centre, Transitional Housing Program, and Protective Care Unit.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans aligned with MKO priorities.
  • Establish measurable goals, indicators, and performance metrics.
  • Lead program development, quality improvement, and innovation across services.
  • Ensure culturally safe, trauma-informed, client-centred service delivery.
