Position Purpose:

The Director, Vendor Management Hub will be responsible for scaling and maturing vendor management functions across operations.

This position will set process excellence standards and define level of rigor for vendor management and have responsibility for developing and maintaining infrastructure and tools for vendor manager.

This position will also have responsibility for driving strategic initiatives to support broader goals within enterprise operations.

  • Own and maintain comprehensive playbook with best practices and processes to execute vendor mgmt. well through VM lifecycle

  • Raise awareness of the importance of rigorous vendor management; disseminate best practices, tools, and processes

  • Coordinate vendor management for vendors with fragmented management, including cross-functional vendors

  • Help scale best practices and processes to each VM, ensuring VMs are meeting minimum acceptable standards (e.g., conducting regular QBRs, managing contract health)

  • Manage central processes/tools, (e.g., Process Contract Summary forms, review how procurement is engaged through ServiceNow tracking)

  • Provide standards and tools for VMs to use to track & report performance

  • Support vendor managers as needed with a particular vendor issue, e.g., running collaborative workshops with vendor that is missing SLAs, identifying root cause for SLA misses, etc.

  • Support analyst in conducting maturity assessments & creating plan to close gaps and enabling VMs to put together business cases to fill in capability / gaps

  • Work with vendor managers to identify risks & opportunities and document workplan to address

  • Own "vendor reset" guide and provide tools for VMs to reset relationships with underperforming vendors, potentially playing more active role if desired

  • Maintain tool to collect vendor performance for top vendors across Ops

  • Create visibility for vendor spend vs budget/projections

  • Track vendor reset savings and KPI improvements

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field required 7+ years in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain roles required
in Operations work and health insurance payer / provider preferred
leadership role in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain preferred
Procurement or Vendor Management (e.g., CIPS, CPVM) preferred

Pay Range: $145,100.00 - $268,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
