What we are looking for :

Reporting to the SVP, Global Head of Operations, the Director, Vendor Management Governance will work with various business units and internal stakeholders, globally, to maintain best practices and policy as it relates to the entire vendor lifecycle, including vendor selection, contract management, performance monitoring and oversight, financial management, and risk management. Our team is looking for someone passionate about using a mix of rigorous analysis, financial acumen, communication and organization to ensure adherence to globally accepted principles and policies. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for leading members of the organization through the vendor management lifecycle while actively identifying areas to improve cost efficiencies, reduce operational risks, and leverage strategic partnerships globally. This is a role that is well suited to an entrepreneurial, analytical, and highly collaborative person who can engage and manage multiple stakeholder relationships, at the senior management level, while driving an agenda based upon continuous improvement of process and procedures.

Your responsibilities :

  • Own the vendor management governance function and global policies and procedures, working to proactively build on and improve them, based on accepted industry practices
  • Stays up to date on regulatory changes and anticipates impacts to the vendor management governance program
  • Partner with the cyber security, legal, compliance, and enterprise risk teams as it relates to the policies and procedures ensuring that their feedback is incorporated
  • Promote and educate the various business units with respect to the policies, procedures and best practices
  • Maintain and enhance the internal Vendor Management related information hubs, creating new content to help business owners and providing access to relevant information to support the business
  • Create and maintain a repository of common Q&As and respond to RFPs and DDQs as it relates to Vendor Management and Governance questions
  • Participate in client and prospect due diligence presentations, effectively demonstrating the strength and rigour of the program
  • Provide, maintain, enhance and administer, using third-party software, a repository and workflow tool for vendor contract and financial management. Provide periodic training to business users
  • Be the business owner of the contract repository software vendor and Fiera’s offshore consultant resource providers
  • Apply disciplined project management practices to drive adherence to vendor management global policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure appropriate due diligence and risk assessments completed so best possible vendors are secured
  • Provide consultative services to internal stakeholders that will guide them through product and service assessments, vendor selection criteria, price negotiations, and any ongoing service level agreements
  • Must have requirements to be successful in this role :

  • A Bachelor’s or graduate degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or similar field
  • 8+ years in either a vendor management / consulting type role or an asset management / financial operations role with experience in managing vendor relationships
  • Project management and organizational skill sets
  • Proven ability to navigate and collaborate with different internal business units and key stakeholders at the senior management level
  • Prior experience across the full vendor management life cycle, from the Request for Proposal to contract negotiations, vendor onboarding and off-boarding
  • Demonstrated vendor management experience in functions like contract negotiations, RFP / RFQ, operational risk management, consolidated financial analysis and reporting, etc…
  • Familiarity with cost management and the preparation of operational reports
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365 tools, specifically, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Self-motivated to take initiative and ownership of your work
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Open to new tools and methodologies, yet opinionated about best practices
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to consolidate and present key updates and findings to executive stakeholders
  • Ability to focus on details without losing sight of bigger picture strategy.
  • Superior verbal communication and ability to build strong working relationships with peers, colleagues and with remote based teams with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Team player with a positive outlook and flexibility to fluidly handle change
