Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Transition & Integration based in Canada.

This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of complex, large-scale enterprise transitions and transformation initiatives. You will serve as the central point of accountability for integration success, ensuring continuity of services, effective change sequencing, and strong risk management throughout each phase. Working across operations, technology, people, and vendor teams, you will orchestrate multiple workstreams and proactively address dependencies and emerging pressure points. The role requires close partnership with executive and operational leaders to support timely decisions and maintain clear, consistent communication. You will also ensure that major changes are introduced sustainably without compromising service levels, operational performance, safety, or team morale. This is an opportunity to shape enterprise-wide initiatives with significant visibility and impact across a complex, national environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and own transition and integration roadmaps for selected large-scale enterprise initiatives across planning, mobilization, execution, and stabilization phases.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for transition outcomes, ensuring milestones, success measures, readiness requirements, and stabilization criteria are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to maintain alignment, readiness, accountability, and timely decision-making across concurrent initiatives.
  • Act as the enterprise focal point for transition coordination, providing visibility into progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and critical decisions.
  • Proactively identify and manage pressure points across technology, operations, people, vendors, resources, and service delivery, escalating issues early and driving resolution before they affect operations.
  • Maintain an integrated view of risks, issues, and dependencies in line with organizational risk management practices, while planning resource requirements to prevent competing demands and capacity constraints.
  • Balance transformation timelines with operational capacity, protecting performance, safety, service levels, customer outcomes, and employee morale throughout periods of significant change.
  • Partner with business, operational, and technology leaders to manage change saturation, establish realistic execution plans, and develop continuity strategies for transition periods.
  • Monitor transition performance metrics, identify areas where continuity may be at risk, and lead corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and operate effective transition governance structures, ensuring clear decision rights, escalation paths, and accountability across workstreams.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear options, trade‑offs, recommendations, and decision points to enable informed executive leadership.
  • Develop clear transition narratives and leadership messaging that help stakeholders understand what is changing, when it will happen, why it matters, and how risks are being managed.
  • Remove barriers to progress and maintain momentum across enterprise‑wide initiatives while ensuring sustainable implementation and successful stabilization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree such as an MBA, MPA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise transformation, integration, transition management, or large-scale program leadership.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional transitions involving operations, technology, people, vendors, and multiple organizational stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end integration programs, including roadmap development, governance, execution, and stabilization.
  • Strong experience managing multiple high‑impact initiatives simultaneously while maintaining operational continuity and service performance.
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership to facilitate timely decisions, manage trade‑offs, and align organizational messaging.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise transition and integration management, operational readiness, continuity planning, change sequencing, and capacity management.
  • Advanced capabilities in risk, issue, and dependency management, with the ability to anticipate downstream operational, technical, and people impacts.
  • Strong governance and stakeholder‑management skills, including the ability to influence and align leaders without direct authority.
  • Ability to translate complex information into concise executive recommendations, clear options, and practical decisions.
  • Strong communication, executive presence, organizational awareness, and judgment in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams across Operations, Technology, HR, Finance, vendors, and other business functions.
  • Experience using performance metrics to assess transition health, integration progress, and enterprise outcomes.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity, with calm, decisive leadership and strong accountability under pressure.
  • Experience in regulated, national, or mission‑critical environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to in‑housing initiatives, operating model changes, or service delivery transformations is a strong asset.
  • Formal training or certification in program management, change management, or integration methodologies such as PMP, PgMP, Prosci, SAFe, or ITIL is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work remotely from a Canadian home office and adapt to multiple time zones when supporting projects across the country.
  • Flexibility to accommodate periods of extended working hours during peak business cycles and critical deadlines.
Benefits
  • Annual base salary of $145,000–$165,000, with the final offer determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, work location, and expected contributions.
  • Fully remote position from a Canadian home office.
  • Flexible work schedule within a full‑time, 40‑hour work week.
  • Opportunity to lead high‑impact enterprise transformation and integration initiatives with broad organizational visibility.
  • Exposure to senior executives and cross‑functional leadership across operations, technology, people, and business functions.
  • Opportunity to influence how complex organizational changes are planned, implemented, stabilized, and sustained.
  • National scope, with the opportunity to contribute to projects spanning multiple regions and time zones.
  • Dynamic environment offering significant ownership, strategic responsibility, and the opportunity to shape enterprise‑wide outcomes.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, belonging, accessibility, and equitable opportunities for candidates and employees.
  • Reasonable accommodation is available throughout the recruitment and assessment process for candidates who require it.
