What You’ll Be Doing

As Director, Trade Control, you will be accountable for providing day-to-day support to Global Markets Trading and Sales teams, as well as managing the Equities Trade Control team. The role will act as a liaison between the front office and downstream teams to ensure all trade-related issues are addressed and resolved. This may consist of managing trade and system-related issues, onboarding new systems and platforms, and working with technology teams to implement new automations.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Leadership: You will foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement to maintain a positive working environment. You will develop and implement strategies aligned with business objectives to meet department goals.

  • Management: You are accountable for ensuring Trade Validation, Reporting, and Reconciliation processes run effectively and efficiently within the team. You will develop and implement continuous training program to enhance employee skills, and analyze training effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback.

  • Collaboration: You'll represent Trade Control and will be the primary point of contact and conduit for all internal departments, traders, and marketers for all trade control related matters. You will collaborate with senior leadership to identify business needs and create tailored solutions to support change initiatives.

  • Business Acumen: You must maintain a high level of knowledge of Capital Markets business products while partnering with peers to deliver timely results for numerous stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • You have an undergraduate university degree in Mathematics, Economics, or Finance.

  • You have 5-7 years of experience working in Financial Services or relevant experience. Prior experience working in Capital Markets with cash equity products - operational and settlement practices of stocks, and options.

  • You have the technical knowledge. Intermediate Excel knowledge, specifically for reconciling datasets from different sources.

  • You can demonstrate experience in various systems. Knowledge of Broadridge, Fidessa, CTM, CDS, DTC, SSCNet is an asset.

  • You're motivated by collective success. You have a strong understanding of the division of major departments in a bank and the flow of information. You have a sense of urgency when responding to queries regarding trade details and discrepancies.

  • Your influence makes a difference. You bring strong verbal communication skills that enable you to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, traders, marketers, middle office, back office, and technology.
