Job summary

the company is seeking a Director, Systems Software in Oxford, UK to lead a cross-disciplinary software team building the stack that powers our quantum computers, from real-time control to compiler‑level software. You’ll guide a growing team of around twenty engineers and collaborate with world‑leading quantum scientists to plan, implement, and release scalable software across the stack.

You will work with Python and Rust on a full‑stack solution, and help establish devops, release, and support

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a software organization containing tens of engineers and subject matter experts.
• Ability to set priorities and manage conflicting requirements with clear outcomes.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software team and roadmaps for multiple projects.
• Define internal processes, including devops, release and support.
• Collaborate with other teams to strengthen cross-team interfaces.
• Manage performance reviews and career development.
• Plan for future growth with the VP of Engineering.
