Status: Full-time
Purpose: The Director, Supply Planning will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply planning process across all three business unit segments, from long-range planning to tactical supply planning, including weekly plant schedules. This role is crucial in ensuring that our supply chain operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Long-Range Supply Planning: Develop and implement long-term supply plans that align with the company's strategic goals. This includes reviewing demand forecasts to assess capacity and create short-term and long-term supply plans for each business unit, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Tactical Supply Planning: Oversee the creation and execution of weekly plant schedules to ensure that production meets demand while optimizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that we have the right products in the right quantities at the right time. This includes working closely with procurement and production teams to balance supply and demand.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including procurement, production, and sales, to ensure that supply plans are aligned with overall business objectives. This includes participating in cross-functional meetings and providing input on supply chain strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply planning function and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This includes leveraging technology and data analytics to drive decision-making.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the supply planning team, including setting goals, providing coaching and feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is an asset.
- 7+ years of experience in supply planning, inventory management, or a related role within a food manufacturing environment; dairy industry is an asset.
- Must have been responsible for end-to-end Planning for a large, complex business (either business unit in a large organization or entire business in a medium sized business with multiple sites).
- Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, including demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in supply chain planning software and tools, such as ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term supply plans that align with the company's strategic goals.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail in supply planning and inventory management.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities, and to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high levels of performance.
