About the role :

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular Full-time Director, Strategy & Integration to join our Supply Chain division. This leadership role ensures the operational readiness and technological advancement of infrastructure supporting our mission as Canada’s Biological Lifeline.

As Director, you’ll lead strategic planning and integration efforts, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and driving meaningful change. You’ll play a central role in advancing our transformation journey — from optimizing project portfolios to enabling cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.

We’re looking for someone with strong digital acumen and hands-on experience maturing supply chain competencies, as well as leading ERP transformations (preferably with SAP or Oracle). A background in manufacturing supply chains, strategy execution, and change leadership is essential. Experience in product portfolio management and facilities or plant design would be valuable assets.

This high-impact role involves working closely with senior leadership and the executive committee, shaping decisions that support critical enterprise priorities.

Formula for success :

  1. Identify and address risks to strategy execution, working with supply chain leadership to remove roadblocks and escalate key issues when needed.
  2. Lead and communicate strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring stakeholder alignment — especially in areas like integrated supply chain enhancements.
  3. Build strong cross-divisional relationships to align priorities and support initiatives like multi-product shifts and network expansion.
  4. Manage the supply chain portfolio, driving prioritization, risk mitigation, and resource optimization to deliver maximum value.
  5. Represent the division at the executive level — gathering input, analyzing emerging issues, and preparing materials for informed decision-making.
  6. Develop and maintain a clear reporting framework for operational and strategic initiatives, including executive and board-level reporting.
  7. Leverage strong digital acumen to lead and support transformation initiatives.

Desired Education and Skills :

  • University degree in a relevant discipline, preferably business, life sciences, engineering, from a recognized institution; a Master of Business Administration or equivalent degree is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management, portfolio management, and change management processes. Project management certification is an asset.
  • Digital acumen and ERP transformation experience, ideally with SAP or Oracle, is required.
  • Ten years of progressive leadership experience in business management, planning, strategy formulation, and execution.
  • Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or blood banking industries at the leadership level is an asset.
  • Experience in strategy and financial analysis is an asset.
  • Highly strategic, forward-thinking, with the ability to balance near-term deliverables and long-term priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, influencing, and negotiation; capable of achieving consensus and driving results.
  • Strong business acumen to support executive decision-making.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic change across technological environments.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

What we offer you

  • 4 weeks' vacation.
  • Annual performance award up to 12%.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family.
  • Defined benefit pension plan.
  • Employee discounts, wellness programs, and professional resources.

What you can expect :

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time / 2 days a week.
  • Travel may be required to attend leadership meetings 1-2 times a month.
