The Director, Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic vision within CI Canadian Wealth, with a focus on Sales and Wealth Services. This position involves collaborating closely with the Head of Sales and Wealth Services and other key leaders to drive growth, enhance client and advisor relationships, and optimize business operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Partner with the Head of Sales and Wealth Services to develop, refine, and implement growth strategies across the team focusing on: Wealth Planning, Insurance Services, Private Client and business development within Sales.
  • Analyze market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making and identify opportunities.
  • Translate high-level strategies into actionable plans and ensure their execution across the Sales & Wealth Services team.
  • Strong ability to balance strategic vision with attention to detail, ensuring both long-term goals and everyday priorities are addressed effectively.
  • Streamline sales and wealth services operations by identifying inefficiencies and implementing best practices.
  • Oversee the development and utilization of sales tools, CRM systems, and reporting mechanisms to enhance productivity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics, ensuring alignment with targets and delivering insights to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity, including the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, navigate complex dynamics with diplomacy, and make well-reasoned decisions.
  • Act as a liaison between the Head of Sales and Wealth Services and other departments to coordinate effective delivery of programs and improved operations.
  • Promote alignment and constructive collaboration across teams to enhance the client experience and achieve organizational goals.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with external stakeholders, such as strategic partners and clients.
  • Lead and manage key initiatives and projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
  • Track progress, allocate resources, and address challenges to keep projects on course.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the wealth industry or consulting, with a focus on sales strategy, business development, insurance or distribution.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related experience. Further education related to insurance, wealth planning and/or financial analysis is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term while also managing short-term priorities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while meeting crucial deadlines.
  • Exposure to wealth planning and wealth advisory businesses is preferred
