What is the opportunity?

We're seeking an experienced Director, Strategic Finance Operations to lead our Financial Operations team, overseeing all financial cycles and working to build and improve processes to support scale. Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Management, Finance, and Client Enablement, this role will focus on supporting leaders and stakeholders across RBCx and RBC on a variety of finance-focused initiatives. As RBCx continues to grow, it is expected that the mandate of this role will continue to evolve. The successful candidate should thrive in an ever-changing and ambiguous environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team responsible for Financial Operations. Ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement of finance infrastructure to maximize efficiency, as well as review value-added capabilities for reporting. Drive improvement with an automation-first approach.
  • Conduct pre and post implementation analysis to assess impacts of projects and app dev spend– identifying gaps and optimizing performance with a lens for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate and deepen relationships with the business and other key stakeholders striving to be a center of knowledge and excellence.
  • Support Project Approval Requests (“PAR”) processes; collaborate to create strong business cases, align stakeholders, execute on PAR commitments, measure progress, monitor draw down of approved capital, and support annual injection reviews/requests as needed.
  • Provide legal entity maintenance, oversight and control in conjunction with partners in finance, tax, and legal
  • Respond to a high volume of ad hoc queries relating to project deliverables and systems from either business or senior leaders, which requires immediate attention and quick turnaround.
  • Identify and support strategies that would drive meaningful growth within RBCx

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • CPA designation or equivalent, with 8-10 years of experience
  • Strong team and people management abilities, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peers
  • Experience developing business cases, forecasts, and models
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders and mobilize cross-functional groups to deliver on common goals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, experience delivering high-quality executive reporting
  • Experience with automating and developing reporting dashboards (e.g. via Tableau or similar platforms)
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Excel

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in consulting, a high-growth B2B/B2C SaaS environment, or a large financial institution
