Are you a trailblazing Programmer with a passion for shaping the future of statistical programming? We're seeking a visionary individual to take on the newly created role of Statistical Programming Early Careers Manager within the Oncology Programming team at AstraZeneca.

As the Statistical Programming Early Careers Manager, you'll step into a Director-level position, reporting directly to a Senior Director. Your mission? To lead recruitment, management, and development of emerging talents in statistical programming.

Responsibilities:

  1. Build and manage a team of early career talent in programming, including leading recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.
  2. Implement structured training programs to develop technical capabilities and transferable skills.
  3. Mentor and coach team members, fostering their readiness and providing opportunities for independent study assignments.
  4. Coordinate with other programming leads to identify technical and process assignments that promote growth and broad knowledge.
  5. Manage team performance, ensuring high standards of productivity and professional development.
  6. Represent the Programming team in early career initiatives internally and externally.
  7. Develop and influence the global early career strategy for Biometrics.

Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Degree in Mathematics (e.g., Applied Math, Engineering), Statistics, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience within programming roles.
  • Experience recruiting and managing early career or junior staff.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Extensive Oncology clinical trial and programming experience.
