Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking an innovative and strategic leader to join our team as Director, Space Management & Operational Readiness. Reporting to the Associate VP, Infrastructure and Facilities, the Director provides leadership for organization-wide space management, operational readiness, and transition planning to support SHN’s growth and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Healthcare Planning, Facilities Management, or related field.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Engineering, Planning, or equivalent graduate education.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient workflows, safety, accessibility, and compliance with design and regulatory standards.
• Establishes organization-wide furniture standards for operational consistency and OH&S requirements.
• Manages furniture and non-clinical equipment procurement, budgets, vendor relationships, RFPs, and contracts.
• Promotes safe environments through ergonomic design and risk mitigation.
• Maintains design standards with evidence-based design, sustainability, and best practices.
• Oversees space utilization, occupancy analysis, move coordination and space allocation planning.
• Directs activation strategies, governance, readiness assessments, and move management.
• Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to implement future-state models of care.
• Leads workforce readiness initiatives including staffing, training, onboarding, and change management.
• Oversees activation, commissioning and testing for facilities, equipment and resources.
