Our diverse team shares a collective passion for solving complex problems with a drive to innovate and a desire to create the passenger-centric travel industry. Based in Toronto, our inclusive culture is built on trust, collaboration, delivering a great product, and continuous personal development. We love what we do, and we support the team around us.

As the Director of Engineering, you will beresponsible for leading our Integrations Development, Platform, and TechOps teams. You are a hands-on leader who sweats the details, are obsessed with building amazing teams, has outstanding communication skills, and has a bias for action. The complexity that comes with building and integrating enterprise software is well understood, and you excel at partnering with colleagues across development, product, and the service delivery organizations to understand customer needs and prioritize action. Finally, you have experience scaling engineering teams; you can see and avoid many of the pitfalls that come with hyper-growth based on your prior experience.

The Role:

As Director, Integrations, you’ll lead the strategy, execution, and operational oversight of our Integrations function. You’ll oversee a growing team responsible for building scalable, efficient, and high-quality integrations with airline and travel systems, empowering seamless customer onboarding and delivery. You’ll serve as a key escalation point for cross-functional delivery issues, manage team capacity and project allocation, and work closely with peers in Engineering, Product Management, and Delivery to drive strategic improvements that reduce time-to-value for customers.

You are a hands-on and systems-minded leader who can zoom out to shape long-term strategy and zoom in to manage priorities, unblock teams, and ensure execution. You’re highly collaborative, strong in technical depth, and passionate about building solutions that are configurable rather than custom-coded whenever possible.

Responsibilities
  • Integration Strategy & Efficiency
  • Direct overall scheduling and allocation of people within the Integrations team, balancing capacity across multiple projects.
  • Negotiate timelines and priorities with Delivery teams, serving as the first point of escalation for project-related issues.
  • Define and execute strategies that reduce customer onboarding time, cost, and complexity through tools, processes, organizational changes, and best practices.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to identify and drive initiatives that increase the configurability and flexibility of integrations.
  • Leadership & Execution
  • Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing Integrations team, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, career development, and team capacity planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate strategic goals into clear plans and priorities for the team, and ensure successful, timely delivery.
  • Cross-functional Partnership
  • Build strong partnerships with Product Management, Engineering Directors, Delivery teams, and Industry Experts to align on priorities, identify risks early, and jointly resolve complex issues.
  • Provide clear and empathetic communication across teams, especially when handling dependencies or conflicting priorities.
  • Architecture & Quality
  • Ensure all integrations are built to be scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our integration architecture and customer requirements to guide decision-making and resource planning.
  • Champion quality and best practices in integration design, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
You Bring:
  • 10+ years in software engineering or integration development, with 5+ years in progressive management or leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing integration teams or complex enterprise integrations, ideally in a scale-up or high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, enterprise software development, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Ability to effectively balance competing priorities, negotiate schedules, and manage cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience building systems that prioritize configuration over customization is a strong asset.
  • Skilled in Agile/Scrum methodologies; familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Technical experience with or familiarity with our stack is a plus: React, Vue.js, TypeScript, Node.js, C#/.NET Core, MongoDB, Docker.
  • Airline or travel industry experience is a bonus but not required.
