What is the opportunity?

As Director, Risk Policy GRM, you act as the GRM lead for oversight, policy approval and governance for key lending portfolios in Commercial Banking including RBCx, Agriculture, Health Care, Auto Finance, Real Estate, CCG and other strategic sectors. You also provide Delegated Lending Authorities and oversight to roles in Regional Banking and Commercial Advisory group with a focus on sound adjudication processes. Following an Agile risk assessment & approval methodology, you provide effective challenge and approval for key Transformational initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Provide counsel to Business Unit partners. Ensuring risks inherent in new or amended products, processes, initiatives, strategies and systems are efficiently and accurately identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored, while maintaining and/or optimizing the risk reward balance.
  • Provide a strong second line of defence by promoting sound risk management practices and providing risk guidance.
  • Execute upon Group Risk Management's risk frameworks and contributes to the ongoing development and updating of policy guidance.
  • Approve or recommend (as required) policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Approve or recommend new or amended product and services as per the Product Risk Review and Approval policy.
  • Approve or recommend and provide on-going support for Delegated Lending Authorities for field and adjudication roles.

Must Have:

  • Strong credit acumen and previous lending/adjudication experience in Commercial markets.
  • Proven track record of building productive relationships with business and functional partners.
  • Consistently demonstrates intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness; proven decision making ability, able to deal with ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work effectively and manage competing demands.

  • Experience in transformation programs.
