As a Director, Risk you will combine expertise in regulatory compliance and risk management to ensure the organization operates within legal frameworks while mitigating potential risks. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a culture of compliance and accountability across all departments.HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
Promote collaboration across departments to address cross-functional risks, risk issues, and governance requirements.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and prioritize organizational risks across the company’s core risks and risk appetite.
Maintain a comprehensive risk management framework, including risk registers and mitigation plans.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and mitigate identified risks.
Monitor emerging risks and recommend strategies to manage potential exposures.
Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
8 – 10+ years of risk experience in financial services industry or other regulated industry.
University degree or equivalent.
Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is an asset.
Prior experience in building and managing robust risk frameworks, familiarity with regulatory landscape, and experience of working with diverse group of stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines.
Experience with Boards and Board committees and understands the roles, issues and concerns
Experience in change facilitation and re-engineering
Broad business knowledge and experience and understanding of organizational structure
Experienced in managing key external relationships and complex projects.
