The incumbent is responsible for making real estate investments (in the form of debts or equity) and for coordinating, planning, organizing and managing several assets as an asset manager, whether he/she originated and closed the asset or not. He/she will manage files independently, with little assistance from his/her superior or colleagues.
Originate real estate transactions as part of various strategies and different partnerships, programs, products (debts and equity), markets and investment tools
Take part in negotiations relating to transaction and partnership structures. Coordinate the stakeholders involved in the process of documenting transactions for legal and tax purposes and, as required, negotiate/ensure compliance with the Real Estate Investment group’s standards and requirements in regard to business governance, policies and business terms and conditions
In accordance with the acquisition procedure, perform due diligence on transactions and, subject to satisfactory due diligence and approval from PSP Investments' Board of Directors, proceed with the closing of such transactions, including coordinating with PSP Investments’ internal departments, external professionals and partners. Whenever the incumbent’s expertise is required, participate and assist colleagues in the performance of their duties
In accordance with the asset management procedure, perform all asset management duties with respect to the assets under the employee’s responsibility
Manage assigned business relationships and/or partnerships with the aim of promoting capital deployment
Support other managers in carrying out their asset management duties. Carry out asset management duties for various files, as requested by the immediate superior
Attend Real Estate Investments and Team group meetings, contribute to discussions and investment decisions. Monitor the markets associated with the assets or products under his/her responsibility. Take part in developing budgets, business plans and strategic plans
Perform all other duties requested by the immediate superior
N.-B. The incumbent will be asked to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or equivalent)
Professional designation (ideally C.A.) or Master’s degree (or equivalent)
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, including at least five (5) years in a position in which real estate investments was the main accountability
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and excellent software capabilities (Excel, Word, etc.)
High level of independence and accountability
Dynamic personality, team spirit and ability to develop positive relationships with colleagues
Sound business sense and strong analytical skills
Good organizational skills and methodical approach
Proactive, forward-thinking and results-driven
Ability to adapt and interest in being part of a growing company
Ethical with professional integrity
Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
