The Director, Product Operations leads the operational backbone of RBC's Vulnerability and Exposure Management function within the Cyber Technology Office. This role is responsible for delivery governance, cross-organizational dependency management, and intake prioritization across a portfolio that includes an enterprise vulnerability management platform, a risk-based prioritization framework, and executive reporting capabilities. Working alongside Product Owners and engineering leadership, this Director builds the operating model that translates product strategy into consistent, measurable outcomes.
The role reports to the Sr. Principal, Vulnerability and Exposure Management.
This is a team that ships. Engineers self-organize and build independently, product ownership is maturing rapidly, and leadership is actively investing in the structure to match the ambition. You would be joining at a pivotal moment: the platform is approaching its production launch, the prioritization model is being redesigned from first principles, and the operating model is yours to define. If you want to build the machine, not just run it, this is the role.
Delivery Governance:Establish and maintain the operating model that ensures predictable, accountable delivery across the product portfolio
Dependency Management:Identify, track, and resolve cross-organizational dependencies that constrain platform progress and data onboarding
Intake Prioritization:Manage the intake process for non-roadmap requests, ensuring work is evaluated, prioritized, and either committed or declined with clear rationale
Stakeholder Alignment:Maintain alignment between engineering, product, security leadership, and enterprise partners on priorities, timelines, and trade-offs
Portfolio Visibility:Provide leadership with clear, current reporting on delivery status, risks, and resource utilization across active initiatives
Operational Cadence:Design and facilitate the team's recurring rhythms, from weekly execution to quarterly planning, ensuring they serve decision-making, not ceremony
Process Improvement:Continuously refine delivery processes, removing friction and adapting the operating model as the team scales and maturing
Product Governance:Partner with Product Owners to ensure roadmap commitments are realistic, sequenced appropriately, and tied to measurable outcomes
6+ years of experience in product operations, delivery management, or technical program management within a technology or cybersecurity environment
Experience managing cross-functional dependencies across engineering, data, and business stakeholder teams
Experience building delivery frameworks and operating models from the ground up
Deep familiarity with product development lifecycles and portfolio governance
Experience with intake and prioritization processes for competing demands across multiple concurrent initiatives
Effective communication and facilitation skills with both technical teams and senior leadership
Experience working within a regulated enterprise environment
Background in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or risk management domains
Experience operating within an agile delivery environment at scale
Familiarity with data platforms, reporting tools (Tableau, Splunk), or security tooling ecosystems
Experience supporting platform product teams through build or rebuild phases
