Director, Product Marketing - Global - (12 month contract)

Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Director, Product Marketing – Global for a 1 year contract who will own the global NPL process from conception to launch, overseeing the development and management of the product roadmap based on the adopted strategies and vision for The Ordinary and NIOD.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Lead and provide the comprehensive strategic direction connecting the company’s global mission and key goals to a product strategy, developing key tactics and KPIs to advance on that strategy.
  • Lead new product strategies, category alignments and provide strategic guidance on sales growth opportunities in collaboration with Scientific & Brand.
  • Monitor the product organization planning process – inclusive of Product Marketing and Product Planning & Management, shaping best practices and enabling maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Senior Executives and be responsible for interpreting and cascading messages from Senior Executives to communicate the vision for new products to key stakeholders across the business.
  • Lead the development of long-term NPD strategy, ensuring that development plans align with the needs of the DECIEM consumer and the business targets of the organization.
  • Provide decisions and solutions to help in pursuing global or regional product strategy, translating the business direction into goals.
  • Ensure seamless communication processes that provide product updates (ingredient changes, reformulations, supply chain issues, out of stocks) to affected areas of the business.
  • Lead the development & sign-off of strategic business cases for all new products, inclusive of market landscape, pricing, COGs and forecasts in collaboration with scientific & sales planning.
  • Directly manage the Product Marketing team to deliver on NPDs, New Sizes, Sets, and overall product portfolio management.
  • Lead the Project Management team in securing timelines for each phase of the development process, ensuring timely arrival of products to the market.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability to integrate sustainability innovation.
  • Lead China-specific NPLs as well as China-tailored messaging for Global NPLs. Track progress with the Project Management team.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • A passion for beauty and the skincare industry with beauty industry experience being strongly preferred.
  • You must have global broad and in-depth multi-functional experience within a similar industry.
  • Proven track record of working with Senior Leaders to interpret and deliver information and secure support/sign-off.
  • Ability to influence others in potentially controversial or sensitive situations and collaborating on Product strategy with multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in integrating sustainable materials and practices throughout the product development and production process.
  • At least 8+ years in a similar role, with at least 5+ years in people management.
